Fuels Management Interns- THRO

The primary objective is to reduce wildland fuels through mechanical and/or prescribed fire methods.

Secondary objectives are to support collaborative working relationships and provide opportunities for youth to take an active role in stewardship of natural resources on federal lands.

The

project motivates its youth participants to become involved in the natural, cultural and /or historical resource protection of their communities and beyond.

Students gain “real world” or hands-on experience outside of the classroom of natural, cultural and/or historical resource projects.NDFS crew members are primarily youth, and the program is facilitate by North Dakota State University.
