Utah Dept of Natural Resources - Paleontological Resources Inventory and Monitoring at Arches National Park

This is a notice of intent only.

Paleontologists from the Utah Geological Survey and the NPS will undertake a paleontological resource inventory of potentially fossiliferous rocks exposed along the south and west sides of the Salt Valley within Arches National Park.

The field team will


undertake a paleontological locality condition assessment of the Cedar Mountain Formation track site just north of Delicate Arch Trail.

The team will establish a monitoring strategy for this fossil track locality.

The UGS will assist the National Park Service with the production of fossil replicas for use in interpretation and education.
