Notice of Intent: Establish a wildlife and conservation partnership between ⿿sister park⿝ units in southern Arizona and northern Mexico

This Cooperative Agreement provides the procedures for coordination of collaborative work between the recipient and SNP to establish a wildlife monitoring and conservation partnership between ⿿sister park⿝ units in southern Arizona and northern Mexico.

SIA is a grassroots organization

dedicated to the protection and restoration of native species and habitats in the Sky Island region of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, including Mexican national parks and NPS areas such as Saguaro National Park, Coronado National Memorial, and Chiricahua National Monument.

The public need addressed by this project is to engage recipients, partners, communities, visitors and students in shared environmental stewardship, and to assist in the improvement of public knowledge about the natural resource values, especially wildlife and springs, of national parks.

Objectives include to communicate, coordinate, and identify key partners and parks for a long-term wildlife monitoring and conservation program; arrange workshops and meetings of personnel from the SIA and US and Mexico park staff to share results, strategies, conservation practices, and protocols for wildlife, especially using wildlife cameras; and seek other partners, including private preserves, and datasets based on wildlife remote cameras used in other sites in the US Mexico border region.

An important public purpose of this project is to create a long-term partnership in wildlife conservation among similar lands with shared conservation goals and issues.

SIA will use its expertise to engage volunteers, scientists, land owners, public officials, and government agencies in shared environmental stewardship on both sides of the US-Mexico border.

The position young people are dealt with can be complex, and yet the entire economic system is still focused for an age that’s almost gone astray. The solution? Promoting social enterprise and getting these young people integrated into work.
