Physical Science Data Collection and Geospatial Analysis at Joshua Tree NP

Project Goals - This project aims to provide early career professionals with opportunities to build skills through work experience at Joshua Tree National Park (JOTR).

Specifically, hired professionals will gain skills by monitoring, documenting, and mitigating specific resources related


to physical sciences.

Examples include but not limited to:
air quality, abandoned mines/mineral lands (AML), light pollution and noise pollution and hydrology/geology.

B.

Project Objectives - Provide professional experience for one physical science technician in data collection, planning/preparation for AML mitigations, implementation of mitigation measures, and monitoring impacts to physical science resources as a result from external developments adjacent the park.

Detailed documentation of monitored resources and implementation of data management per JOTR Data Management Plan.

Maintain GIS database of documented resources and provide geospatial analysis for reporting and presentations.
