Supporting science-based decision making under the Convention on Biological Diversity and Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

USDA/FAS works to collaborate with U. S. government agencies, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations, and industry to promote U. S. products of biotechnologies and understanding and acceptance of agricultural biotechnologies, including new initiatives related to the technology.

are anticipated to support preparation for international meetings, including the Conference of Parties-Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP-MOP), and associated intersessional meetings and negotiations, which may educate stakeholders on technical issues to allow them to fully participate in international fora dealing with agricultural biotechnologies.
