WIC Online Ordering Grant

The purpose of this grant project are to:
study to determine options and recommendations for implementing online ordering (both with in-person and online transactions) in WIC in a manner that is consistent nationwide and results in secure transactions; Develop documents and other resources identified

in the study that are necessary to implement online ordering in WIC, including an assessment of existing WIC EBT Operating Rules and Technical Implementation Guide for potential changes; Develop and manage competitive sub-grant awards to a maximum of five WIC State agencies, which will use the implementation plan and related documentation to work toward implementation of online ordering; as well as other facets of the Online Order for the Program.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible entities: A research institute that is public, private, or nonprofit; an accredited college or university; or a public health organization or program that meets the technical requirements outlined in this RFA.In addition, applicants must meet the following requirements: (1) have experience in: (i) designing, implementing, and coordinating a competitive RFP process, (ii) conducting high-quality evaluations related to implementing technological innovation in public health, (iii) providing high-quality technical assistance to WIC and/or other public health agencies and key stakeholders; (2) knowledge of or capacity to quickly learn about the WIC Program and WIC EBT transactions (from both a policy and technical standpoint); and (3) experience working with WIC State agencies and using or applying the WIC EBT Operating Rules and Technical Implementation Guide.
