The Midwest Assistance Program Loan Fund (MAPLF) is a newly-formed CDFI subsidiary of the Midwest Assistance Program, which has helped rural communities develop community water systems for more than 25 years. Founded in 2003, MAPLF is dedicated to offering below-market rate loans to low-income, rural communities for water system predevelopment activities. This unique predevelopment loan product will help communities leverage other state and federal infrastructure funding sources in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana.

MAPLF will use its 2005 TA award of $45,600 to perform a market assessment, finalize loan product development, update computer hardware and software, update its web page, train staff, and conduct its first audit.
