The Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund (UMLF) was established in 1991 to provide financing and management support to entrepreneurs in start-up and existing firms that do not have access to traditional sources of capital; especially those who are owned by people who are socially and economically disadvantaged. Products offered by the loan fund include a a€œtraditionala€ micro-loan up to $10,000 for start-up and existing businesses; an a€œUnder 3-Step Loana€ for smaller businesses in need of loans from $500 to $3,000; a Child Care Provider Loan available to family or center-based childcare businesses located in Salt Lake County; and a Vocational Rehabilitation Loan Program available to individuals who have been injured on the job and who are seeking self-employment.

FA (2009) - $500,000

Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund is a certified CDFI established in 1991. It provides mircroloans and management assistance to new and existing small businesses to low income counties in Utah. The Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund will use the FY 2009 Financial Assistance award for loan loss reserves.



SECA (2002) - $20,000

The technical assistance award will be used for a peer review of the organization and for staff training in micro-business lending policies and procedures.



SECA (1999) - $39,000

The technical assistance grant will be used for technology purchases training and development of impact assessment methodology and marketing materials.
